A right whale is a medium sized creature. An average right whale is 45 feet long, A large right whale is 60 feet long. A right whale's head can be half the size of its body. A 60 foot right whale weighs 90,000 kg that's 298,000 pounds. A female right whale can live for 9 years.
How Long Do Right Whales Migrate?
Some right whales migrate far some migrate shorter than others. The longest migration of a right whale is 1000 miles from Florida to Massachusetts. That’s almost all the way up and down America. The mother right whale travels from Maine to the coast of Florida and Georgia. And that is where they lay there babies.

Right whales are some of the most rarest of their kind. There are only 450 of them left. Isabella said that plastic bags, bottles and fishing nets hurt them. Oh and if you are wondering who Isabella is she is a girl in my class in Westchester who is an expert on litter in the ocean and how it affects animals. It could get stuck in there throat and kill them. Whaling is a horrible sport where they throw spears at whales until they die. And after the whalers get what they want they throw the the whale back in the ocean. What a horrible waste. When a Right Whale gets caught in a net or swallows a plastic bottle or bag it could die. As you all know the net could drown it and the bottle could get stuck in its system and the bag could get stuck in its blowhole.

Now that you are an expert on the Right Whales here are some things that you can do to protect these beautiful creatures. 1. do not go near the signs in the ocean that say be cautious right whales near. 2. don't go whaling. 3. don't put litter in the ocean.
