Imagine that you were a Loggerhead sea turtle and you just got caught in a fishing net and could not get out. Imagine if you were a Loggerhead sea turtle and you ate a plastic bag and could not get it out. That’s how the loggerhead sea turtle’s numbers are dropping. That’s why we need to find there locations so we can protect them. Imagine if there were no Loggerhead sea turtles left in the wild.
Habitat
The Loggerhead sea turtle lives in the ocean. They live in the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian oceans. They live in coral reefs deep waters and shallow waters. Juveniles prefer shallower waters and coral reefs and don't prefer deeper waters. They live on the coast of Georgia. They live on Tybee Island. There are good spots for them to lay their eggs. People look for tracks in the sand so they can protect the eggs. They turn off their lights after 10 pm.
How their habitats are harmed
There are also many things that harm their habitat like oil from boats harm their insides. In female sea turtles oil harms the babies. Last it kills the coral it eats. They go towards the city lights. It could get run over by a car because of the city lights. Last it could get lost in the sand dunes and eaten by a crab.
Ways to help
There are many to help loggerhead sea turtles. First you could clean up the water like pick up plastic bags out of the water. You can also put trash in your garbage can. Second you could leave them alone like if you see one that is extinct don't bother it. You can take a picture when they are nearby. Don't kick or throw sand at them. Third you could leave their eggs alone. Don't throw their eggs. Don't keep their eggs. And try not to find their eggs.
