Acid rain
Acid rain is extremely dangerous. It has a lot of bad chemicals in it. Sometimes it can shred a tree’s leaves off in a matter of minutes that is only a little bit of what acid rain can do.
How is acid rain formed
This is how acid rain is formed. Acid gases are formed when you burn coal or oil from a factory or your home. Factories burn coal and oil to make the machines work. The acid gases go into the clouds turning rain into acid rain. There is no acid snow or acid hail.
Why is acid rain bad
Acid rain is bad in lots of reasons. The acid takes away important minerals in the ground. Without the minerals the plants will lose their leaves and may die. The acid also reduces the pH level causing the animal to die. If the acid gets into water every thing in the water will die. The acid also eats away at stone and metal. For example, the statue of liberty had to be replaced because of acid rain.
What you can do
Now that you know why acid rain is bad and harmful. Here are five ways to stop it from happening. Walking and riding the bus to school, planting trees, try to limit the use of air conditioning, turn off electrical equipment when you’re not using them . These help prevent acid rain from happening because you will release less gases into the sky and stop some gases from going into the sky.
